meet shelby

I had a variety of family pets growing up that included dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, a snake ... just to name a few. Around 10 years old, I got my first taste of barn life and became a committed equestrian. Those roots grew into showing in 4-H, giving riding lessons, barn management, creating and managing an intern program, and much more. With years of horsemanship under my belt, transitioning to dog training was a smooth process as there are a lot of parallels between the two.

In 2019, I purchased my home in Greenwood and started boarding pups for a small circle of friends and friends-of-friends. That started the spiral that got us where we are todayâ€Ķ. wholeheartedly committed to providing the best pet care to Greenwood and its surrounding areas.

It brings me joy being able to partner with you to meet the needs of your pet through general care, enrichment strategies, and formal training. If you have any questions or wish to learn more about our services, please reach out at any time. We enjoy connecting with the community over our shared love of animals.

We start by learning about you, your pup, and your frustrations before creating a tailored training plan that sets you both up for success.

giving back

By booking with SS Boarding, you are not only supporting a small business but also contributing to local charities through us.

a vacation you both can enjoy

Let's face it, not everyone thrives outside of a routine and that’s the case for a lot of dogs. So while you’re looking forward to upcoming travel plans, your pup is dreading your departure. Well, not anymore! SS Boarding puts an emphasis on managing your dog's stress, whether it stems from excitement or uncertainty, by ensuring our environment is fun and engaging without being over stimulating.

Peace of mind starts with an initial Meet & Greet, where we do our first assessment and get to know you and your dog. From there, we move into the onboarding process, which is designed to help us fully understand your pup’s needs, play style, and comfort level in our home. In the end, if we determine we’re not the best fit to provide the level of care your dog deserves, we’re happy to connect you with trusted pet care professionals from our referral network.
